Soccer tip Denmark is at Euro 2020 after a titanic battle in Dublin
Denmark qualify for Euro 2020 after picking up the point of their visit to Ireland in Dublin. The two teams finished with a 1-1 result predictions by
questions for tipsters at Aviva Stadium, which left the Red Dynamite in second place in Group D behind the Swiss team, which beat Gibraltar 6-1 this evening. The duel in Dublin was a direct battle to qualify for the finals, with Denmark in a more advantageous starting position because it needed only a point that ultimately managed to win. Martin Brightwitte (73 `) even gave the guests an advance and Matt Doherty evened it five minutes before the end. Denmark finished without a single loss in the group, while Ireland will have a second chance to qualify through the barrage.
Three changes were made in the two formulations. David McGoldrick, Matt Doherty and Connor Hurricane started for the hosts. Captain Seamus Coleman missed the match for punishment. In his absence, the tape was handed to Shane Duffy.
Henrik Dalsgaard, Yousuf Poulsen and Andreas Cornelius started for Denmark. The bad news for the guests was that as early as the 13th minute, Thomas Delaney was injured and was replaced by Pierre-Emil Heiberg. Otherwise, the first half was pretty even, with a lot of battle and no special goal chances. In the 28th minute, it looked like Eriksen found the ball very well and pointed it towards the door, but Shane Duffy self-sacrificed the block.
Oge Hareide had to make a second forced change as Cornelius got a blow to the head and gave way to Dolberg.
Jurihein came in pretty good position in the 35th, but his shot, although the first to be accurate in the match, was too light and fell into Schmeichel`s hands.
The hosts started a very enthusiastic second half, but failed to reach the much desired goal. Instead, with his first straight shot in the match, Denmark came ahead in the result. It happened in the 73rd minute when the Martin Brightwright reserve slipped behind Doherty`s back and caught a very good centering of Dalsgaard. However, Ireland did not give up and continued to search for the hit. In the 85th minute, Doherty put his head down to spot a very good centering of Stevens. In the five minutes to the end of regular time and in the four minutes continued play at the door of Kasper Schmeichel, but Denmark survived and qualified for Euro 2020.
Ireland will have a second chance to qualify through the League of Nations and Barrage in March.
