Pedri missed the first penalty of his career. The Spanish national team hosts the Swiss team in the 6th round of the group stage of the Nations League (2:1, second half).
In the 32nd minute, referee Bastian Danckert awarded a penalty in favor of the hosts for a foul on Alvaro Morata. Pedri stepped up to the spot but failed to convert the penalty kick - his shot was saved by goalkeeper Yvon Mvogo.
Nico Williams played the finishing touch, but the ball was cleared from the goal line by Remo Freuler. On the third attempt, the Spaniards still hit the opponent`s goal - Jeremy Pinault scored.
This was the first penalty in Pedri`s career, excluding post-match shootouts. He made 160 appearances for Barcelona and 30 for the national team.
