Wenger farewell to the fans and turned to his heir

Outgoing Arsene Wenger made an address before his last home game mentioned by goldsoccertips at Arsenal - against Burnley in the 37th round of the Premier League of England. The Frenchman retired after almost 22 years at the head of the `balls`.




Here`s what he wrote:

Honestly, I expect today to be sadness. This is the end of my long stay in Arsenal. At the same time, however, I feel grateful that, for such a long period, I had the opportunity to lead this team, which I like very much. For so many years I have been trying to distribute myself completely to make people happy. I hope those fans who love the club will be happy to continue to achieve what they love and really want. I met people for whom I am the only manager of Arsenal to know. Now is a good opportunity for the club to attract new people with new ideas and to continue to advance forward, which I have been trying to do all my life.

I am proud that during these decades we managed to keep the club`s traditions and the players share a special attachment to it. Part of a player`s life is to experience the feeling of a special place, and this is Arsenal in this case. I do not have a finger in choosing my heir because I do not have a job but I would like to tell him to do what he thinks to be good for the club. Throughout my life, I was led by this. You have to think and work for the club as if it were yours. This advice I would give to the next manager. I would also tell him to be prepared to have the strength to fight every day to have the strongest Arsenal possible. My last words are to the fans:Thank you very much for your support all these years. Continue to support the club that is so special to us all. No matter what will happen in the future, believe in the path the club has taken. Like you, I will continue to support Arsale until the end of my life. Arsene Wenger
